Research Projects: Ongoing
MODUS (Modeling for sustainable Development in Urban Spaces), Starting fund (2025-2027)
The aim of this project is to develop and evaluate innovative land use models, utilising Geographical Information Systems (GIS), artificial intelligence (AI) techniques, and advanced spatial geocomputational methods (SCM) within a Planning Support System (PSS) to support urban, land use, spatial planning and decision-making. A PSS provides a powerful framework for scenario urban planning and development, to assess the impacts of land-use change/urban growth, transport, economic development, environment, and population dynamics.
COST Action- CA22136 (Nov. 2023- 2027) – Pan-European Network of Green Deal Agriculture and Forestry Earth Observation Science (PANGEOS)
This project aims to leverage state-of-the-art remote sensing (RS) technologies to advance field phenotyping workflows, precision agriculture/forestry practices, and larger-scale operational assessments for more sustainable management of Europe’s natural resources.
